Blog Post 01.09.11 The Personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit – John 14:16

My devotional this morning will be from the 14th Chapter of the Gospel According to John beginning with verse 16. These are not new verses and you will be familiar with them as I read. Jesus said; “And I will pray the Father and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.” Continue reading Blog Post 01.09.11 The Personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit – John 14:16

Acts 26:1,2 & 24-32

In the 26th Chapter of the Book of Acts the Apostle Paul was on trial or ready to be tried for being a disciple of Jesus Christ. In verse one and two he said; “Then AGRIPPA said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand and answered for himself: I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:” Then to verse 24: “And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul thou art beside thyself, much learning doth make thee mad. But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus: but speak forth the words of truth and soberness. For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely, for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner. Numbers 21:4-9

I’ll be reading this morning from the Book of Numbers Chapter 21 and beginning with verse 4. This is a scene of the wilderness to the children of Israel as they journeyed toward the promise land. And beginning with verse four “And they journeyed from Mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people were much discouraged because of the way. And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, neither is there any water, and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses and said, we have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against thee; pray unto the Lord that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the Lord said to Moses, make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole and it shall come to pass that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.” We’ll close our reading with verse 9 and that’s reading verses 4 through 9 of Chapter 21 of the Book of Numbers for our devotional. Hebrews 11:3

My devotion will be from the 11th chapter of the Book of Hebrews and verse 3. I’m just going to read one verse. The writer of the Book of Hebrews said “through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” The subject of my message this morning is Creation. I think we all have an interest in creation and the handiwork of Almighty God our Heavenly Father. I need to say this morning that the only account of creation is that mentioned and written down in the word of God. Now there are some books that follow and that they are basically built around the story that is in the Book of Genesis. Now there are some accounts that deny creation but let me say to you this morning that I think it is important for Christian people and church people to know something about creation. Hebrews 6:13

My devotional this morning will be from the 6th chapter of the Book of Hebrews. I’m going to speak to you on things you have heard and read before about an important subject that is about an hour long. So I hope I can cut through some of the things that are important things that are in this message and leave with you the fault. I’m going to begin reading from verse 13 of the 6th chapter of the Book of Hebrews; with Paul writing he said; “For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear be no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
